SAMSKRITI, 44th Annual Conference

What is a Rotaract Conference?

Along with inspiring anecdotes from celebrated public figures, Rotaract Annual District Conferences provide a much-needed platform for Rotaract members to exchange views on pertinent global issues and discuss solutions- of the youth, by the youth, and for the youth. Coupled with unlimited music, gourmet food, and fun-filled group activities, Conferences are the grandest events of the entire Rotary year.

Considering that ‘Samskriti’ was the first offline Conference after consecutive online years, it was vital to showcase the true spirit of Rotaract to all delegates, who were relatively new to the movement.

Introduction to SAMSKRITI

Samskriti, our 44th Annual Conference District happened on 23rd and 24th April 2022, at Mount Carmel College.

Being the most festive Rotaract Conference to date, ‘Samskriti’ had a massive registration count of 1200+. The theme of the Conference was one that is close to all our hearts- ‘Culture & Heritage of Karnataka’. The two-day power-packed agenda consisted of an address from our very own District Governor Rtn. Fazal Mahmood, panel discussions, cultural performances, showcases of clubs’ activities throughout the year, and most importantly, provided a platform for networking to happen.

Rotaract 3190 was proud to have hosted celebrated performers who lit up the event with their energetic gigs.  Kannada Lyricist & Performer Chandan Shetty, and the SEHER Band (a new-age rock band) were two such magnificent performances that all delegates thoroughly enjoyed.

Numerous fun competitions like Rangabhumi (theatre), Banner making, talent hunt (Mr.&Ms.3190) were organized to encourage teambuilding, fellowship and networking.

RANGABHUMI

Considering that theatre is an integral part of the Culture & Heritage of Karnataka, we organized ‘Rangabhumi’, a contest to bring out the actor in each participant.

Brought to the viewers by Rtn. Rohit Nagesh, Rtn. Taranath( Global Business Development) & Mr. Gopal( G force security and allied services) , the participants of Rangabhumi were given the freedom to choose a topic in alignment with the Heritage of Karnataka and enact a skit on it.

Rotaract Club of SSMRV won first place, with a cash prize of Rs.10,000, Rotaract Club of Mount Carmel College bagged the second prize with an award of Rs.7000, and Rotaract Club of Bangalore North was awarded the third prize, a cash prize of Rs.5,000.

Mr. & Ms. 3190- Rotaract 3190’s Talent Hunt

The much-anticipated talent hunt of the District took place in three rounds, each round more challenging than the last. The trivia round, talent round and stress interviews certainly did keep all 40 contestants on their toes!

Banner Making Competition

Providing the clubs an opportunity to kindle their creative and artistic abilities, Samskriti hosted an inter-club banner-making competition. Participating clubs beautifully depicted their Rotaract journeys pictographically and proudly displayed their banners.

The ‘Best Banner’ prize was awarded to Rotaract Club of KSSEM (University) and Rotaract Club of Bangalore Junction(Community) for their incredibly well-made banners.

Rotaract Club of AIMS and Rotaract Club of Vidyaranyapura bagged the ‘Most Promising Banner’ award.

Panel Discussion- The Future of Rotaract

As the famous saying goes, ‘If you desire to make a difference in the world, you must be different from the world.”

In this context, a panel discussion was conducted on the future of Rotaract, and how Rotaractors can uniquely make a positive difference in the World. Moderated by Rtn. Rtr.
